Elmwood Park High School in Elmwood Park, NJ is looking for a color guard instructor for the 2022 season. We are on the larger end of a group 1 band with a guard of about 7.
Professional guard experience is preferred. Applicants will need to be comfortable handling choreography and cleaning drill. The opportunity for winter guard does exist, although we have not run it in our district in a number of years. Full group rehearsals are on Mondays from 4-6 and Wednesdays from 6-8, and we have a music only rehearsal on Thursdays from 5-6:30. Scheduling is somewhat flexible for the guard!
This is a stipended position that increases around $400 every year that you are on board. Winter guard is an additional stipend, should you choose to run that as well. All applicants must have at least 30 college credits and be able to submit fingerprints and pass a background check.
