Socorro High School is wanting to hire a Guard/Dance teachers. We are a 6A high school in Texas. This position is a full time salaried teaching position that includes a stiped and insurance benefits. The job entails assisting our current dance teacher with Dance I and Dance II classes and will be in charge of the guard classes and program during both marching and winterguard season.
Currently, we have 20 members in our guard and have been without an official coach for 3 weeks. They are an established group and are actively competitive in the WTCA (West Texas Colorguard Association) winterguard circuit. They also, of course, join the band for marching band competitions including UIL and local/regional competitions.
Dance teacher is required. If your certification is in progress, the district may have some leniency.
Drum Corps and WGI experience is preferred.
