Event Partners are required to provide the Contest Administrator, all judges (including the working chief judge and timing and penalty judge) with single occupancy rooms. WGI understands that economy is an issue but please know there is a minimum standard. Hotels must be a clean, comfortable, preferably full-service property. In the case that the hotel is not a full service property WGI asks that Event Partner’s choose a hotel with a sensible restaurant within short walking distance or a hotel that provides free local shuttle service where a restaurant is available.

We highly recommend the use of airport hotels that have a shuttle. Often times Friday night traffic is a problem along with flight delays typical in winter months. This allows the judge to take a shuttle and eliminates multiple trips to the airport for your drivers.

All hotel rooms should be prepaid and confirmation numbers should be in each individual’s name (not under a group name). Simply using your credit card to guarantee a room is not the same as pre-paying. It is helpful to provide the hotel with a typed rooming list to be on hand for the front desk for arrivals.

Depending on circumstances, you may be required to provide hotel rooms for tabulators if they’re not local. In these cases, you may book these personnel in double occupancy rooms. Your Contest Administrator will advise you if this is needed for your event.
