COLOR GUARD INSTRUCTOR

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma or Accredited General Equivalency Diploma (GED) Note: Proof of U.S. equivalency must be provided if diploma is from outside of the United States
• Experience teaching and performing in color guard
• Demonstrate effective communication skills
• DCI/WGI performance and/or teaching experience (preferred)
• Must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting check prior to starting employment

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
• Teach choreography and design for marching band and winter guard shows

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Prepare and teach color guard routines
2. Teach the color guard class
3. Run morning or afternoon rehearsals for both fall & winter season.
4. Maintain safe and orderly classroom
5. Maintain equipment inventory and care of guard equipment and uniforms
6. Supervise students at all rehearsals, contests, or events
7. Participate in staff meetings and special events as assigned
8. Maintain reliable and regular attendance
9. Recruit color guard members
10. Attend practices, performances, contests, and games as assigned
11. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Bands

Pay will be based on experienced of candidate.
